As we are closing for the summer vacation ,its time to chill out with family and friends . Many of us travelling abroad or simply visiting our relatives in distant places . With kids at home and guests or relatives pouring in , Summer vacation can be both fun and tiresome too… and to top it all , the unbearable rising temperatures these months makes working out seems next to impossible .
but as always for every problem god sends a solution and yes we do have one with us …it is called Effective Planning.
Planning is the most important phase of this journey towards fitness and good health . when you fail to plan you plan to fail . always keep this in mind.So in order to avoid frustrations and failures later on , start working on your floor plan today. below I am giving you some pointers which will help you stay as fit and strong without spending a dime elsewhere and in very less time getting the benefit of a good one hour sweaty workout at the gym,all in the comfort of your home lawn or hotel room .. you can do these simple exercises anywhere and at anytime . it only requires few minutes of planning daily and you are good to go.. so here they are:
- Plan 10 mins min of workouts daily first thing when you get up. you can include any basic body weight exercise for this , for ex, jumping jacks , push ups, crunches, squats, walk lunges or simply lunges. getting out of the bed and moving into some light exercise will help you start your day in a better mood and form. make this a routine , a habit . you can do as many sets and reps as you are comfortable that’s on you .
- Invest in a smart watch or steps tracker even on your phone will do. this is really beneficial when it comes to counting steps the entire day , keeps you on your toes. Have experienced this with my fitbit band , its amazing it also motivates you when you are sitting for too long , and rewards you when you cross your mark. minimum steps required generally is 10,000 but you can go more and challenge yourself to do more this way.
- Vacationing or not , keep a food and workout journal handy , so you can put your stuff down and go back to it when needed to make any changes, this way you will always be on track and will be easier to get back even if sometimes you might go off.
- Plan everything before hand , what you are going to eat, what workouts you will do, carry your workout clothes and shoes wherever you plan on going so you wont have an excuse for not having anything to wear .. (though you really don’t need anything )
- Keep your workout routines planned and handy , I would suggest that you keep a weeks list ready , and make sure that you are doing total body routines every day , don’t keep it too lengthy or too exhaustive especially if you are out vacationing , don’t want to get too sore while enjoying either. so plan wisely keeping in mind whole body targeting every major muscle groups, so in short you do a squat , a lunge, a push up, plank , every single day.
- Focus on correct form and always mix it up with good whole body stretching as in yoga stretches or dynamic stretches. put in some isometrics such as squat holds, plank holds, hollow man holds etc daily.
- Always keep in mind the 80/20 rule when it comes to diet and exercise. So keeping a check on what you put in your mouth will go a long way towards ensuring that you keep losing weight or at least maintain it during your holidays .
- Holidays are the time to de-stress and let your hair down , so try to maintain your calm and peace and if by chance there are days which don’t go well , maybe you partied a bit too much or slept till late and forgot to set your alarm , don’t kill yourself over it. Tell yourself that you will get back up and take it from where you left and start all over again .
- Last but not the least , planning comes after the goal setting stage , so don’t forget to pen down what you expect from yourself during the holidays . setting goals gives you a rightful purpose and overall confidence in yourself .
so guys go and have fun , will see you again soon ! will try my best to write few blogs in between.
Keep in touch ,
God bless !
Thank you !
