I am Thankful for pain and suffering … Yes I know at first that sounds weird but when you give it a second you realize that this really makes sense Because without pain and suffering, we simply don’t have the capacity to become the best and strongest version of ourselves.
There’s a saying “Pain and suffering is the soil where pleasure and joy are grown.”
I couldn’t agree more.
Almost a year back I suffered a complete ACL tear in my left knee while working out …At that moment I didn’t realize what had happened took me several days to come over the fact that my knee would never be the same ever again… I was told that I could not pursue my training career and that any kind of intense activities like dancing and intense training was completely out of picture forever and the final blow was that I had to get operated or I would loose the knee within few years down the line… well that was it … That’s when I realized how important one’s health is and how we take it for granted every single day .
It took a lot of effort , pain, patience, right support to get back on my feet within a short span of time and yes a lot of faith in myself and in god . Today though my knee will never be 100% like before but I am in better shape than I was before my injury. (Without going under the knife).
But it’s that moment and the time of self-realization that followed that allowed me to grow.
It pushed me to better understand my body and how it works. I started taking care.
It gave me a deeper appreciation for my health and what it’s truly worth.
As odd as it may sound, I’m quite thankful for that moment.
Because, to some degree, it has helped shape me into who I am today.
The reason for telling you this is that I want You take a second to think about what you’re thankful for.
And be grateful always for all the obstacles that come your way as they help you mold into a stronger and a better person.
All the best
Soma:)
